I haven't tried the ferrite beads yet. I don't have any and the local radio shack does not have them in stock. I'll probably have to order some because I don't think anyone in my little town will have any. The manual for the Isotron calls the weird bent rod that's parallel to and below the radiator a "counterpoise". This rod is moved closer to or farther away from the coil to adjust the resonant frequency. Personally, I would not have thought of the rod as a counterpoise in the conventional sense. One other thing I've tried at Bilal's suggestion is to disconnect the coax at the antenna and to connect a stub of wire onto the coax center lead. That configuration is still a bit noisier than the dipole. Using a battery powered radio with a ferrite antenna as a tool to go RF snooping didn't lead to the offender, though. Best regards, Wayne
