It has over 10dB additional gain and sensitivity featuring both rotation and tilt to match the incoming wave angle. This provides deep nulls on local noise and received signals.

The system consists of a loop amplifier and plug-in loops. Loops are available for the LF band 150-550 kHz, the AM broadcast band (including the new expanded band) 530-1700 kHz and for the nighttime short wave and 160 & 80-meter amateur bands 1700-6000 kHz. The Loop Amplifier has a rear panel clip to hold a 9v battery and a SO-239 (UHF) connector to the receiver.

For the broadcast band DX'er, the loop covers the entire band including the new expanded band to 1700 kHz. The tilt feature can eliminate local noise and interfering stations. Nulls are very good on local stations and, in the low frequency half of the band, on distant stations also.

On short wave and the amateur 160 & 80-meter bands, the loop is particularly useful in noisy locations. It has less noise pickup than other antennas and can null out local noise while still providing reception of distant stations in all directions.

The loops plug into the LA-1 loop amplifier. It has the tuning control and a power switch on its front panel. The rear panel has a UHF connector for the radio connection and a clip to hold the 9-volt battery.

Again, the AM broadcast antenna covers 530-1700 kHz which includes the new expanded band. The HF plug in loop covers 1700-6000 kHz for the amateur 160 and 80 meter bands as well as the nighttime short-wave bands. The LF plug in loop covers 150-550 kHz.
