Folks:
We have this new announcement that pertains to our free access areas that will/should be of interest to you as one of our visitors. During the first week of April 2005, our free-access areas are being moved and rebuilt to include new content as well, i.e., more new programs, models, articles, etc.

This pertains to the free access to our new Guest Rooms being built:
• Antenna Science
• Preview Articles
• Software Download
• Antenna Modeling
• From the Shack
• Propagation
• Ham WorkShop
• Stone's Throw!

Our first objective is to make access to those areas more convenient by consolidation, while at the same time securing our copyright material against the constant invasion and theft by pirates.

Along with the continuing fight against spam/virii, protecting our material and valuable bandwidth against piracy takes up a great amount of our time. The Internet is simply not the friendly neighborhood it used to be in the "old days" and more and more security must be installed to counteract these intruders. My column, Stone's Throw! to be published on April 1, 2005 in our new issue #96.

In view of the above, we will be performing a "makeover" of the more than eight free sections that has always been easily available to all of our friends throughout the many years antenneX has been online.

THE CHANGE:
In addition to the consolidation, we will request that our visitors to the "Guest Rooms" register a login. It seems a fair exchange in view of the valuable content made available there. While we have a login system already on the free downloads of software and modeling files, and the Antenna Science Library, I am not happy with the performance of those login scripts which do not contain a form of security and is open to the abuse we are trying to discourage.

Thus, in early April 2005, we will be activating a new login system -- and, the login can be totally managed by our guests. Above is a graphic of what you see as a login page to the new consolidated area, "antenneX Guest Rooms."

- Right at the top is the link for those members that already have a login to go right in.
- On the left side are the links to the eight different guest rooms.
- On the right side are links to manage your personal login:
• Get Member Login
• Edit Your Login Info
• Change Password
• Delete Your Login
• Ask for Help

As a result of this new programming, you will be able to obtain your own login, change it to update your info, change your password and delete membership if & when you desire without our help. Of course, the bottom link provides help if you still need it.

We are telling you in advance about this pending makeover change so you can go ahead and get your login setup and avoid any delay once the changeover is made effective. You will be able to log right in.

Your new login will be active the moment you set it up and will be able to access the new Guest Rooms. However, since the rooms are still under construction, many of the links will just lead to the old stuff -- or not work at all. The minute we announce the change over in early April, all things should work. In the meantime, access to the old locations you have been used to will continue to work.

So, avoid the rush later and get you login all setup now at this URL:

We've really tried to make it easy while still fending off the bad guys!

Hope to see you soon!
