Literature study tells me that ( though , Jef, you're right that the difference in DC ohmic conductivity between copper and silver is little ) the result in radiation efficiency between the two of them should be more than appreciable ( a.o. and e.g.: W4MMC in " Small Magnetic Loops " pp.62 : :..." Efficiency of radiation is ( a.o., PE1ECM )a function of the type of metal surface on the skin. Copper is probably 60% better than aluminium. Silver is MUCH ( upper-case by me PE1ECM ) better than copper ".

The fact that silver has only so little ohmic difference with copper does not necessarily mean that the loops efficiencies also differ only that little. ( BTW : for what other reason do we silverplate our cavities ? ).

The motordriven vacuumvarco's will be silverwelded/-brazed into the loop as well.

I'm very curious if and how much difference I will be able to determine significantly and reproducibly.

And yes, Ralph ,for the sake of completeness, I will lacquer the silverplayed one too ( though silveroxide conducts as well as the silver itself and the skin wil be over 30 mu thick.
