Meanwhile I found a company willing to silverplate my copper loop with a very homogeneous and smoothed 30mu skin. I have two identical continuously motordriven vacuumvarco's 5-500pf and I will construct two very identical small 5' dia 7/8" thick tube hf-loops for 7-21 Mhz ( not 28...) the one polished and lacquered copper and the other professionaly silverplated and nonlacquered.
I will try to make short term comparisons between the two of them ( the copper one will be lacquered and will not degrade too much ).
