Hi,

the article about looped quarter-wave coax antenna looked interesting, so I made one for 10m last night.

It works the same if it forms "O" (loop), "C" or "S" shape. I cannot make it straight because there's only 1.4 meter "slot" between my balcony rail and the next floor, and the ant is about 1.8 meter long (I made it 5% longer, as recommended).

Now I get VSWR 1:3 all over 10m band and the same or slightly worse at 12m (24.930 MHz).

Can this be due to the broadband character of this ant, or is anything wrong with the ground? Unfortunately, I couldn't get a GDO, which would be the easiest way to check resonance.

Despite all that, I could listen to some stations on 20m this morning (even heard some noise of W1 stn).
