Hi Tom, The reason I went to screwdriver antennas was because of the frustration of having to have several antennas or several coils and adjustable whips. A screwdriver antenna allows operation on any hf band + 6 meters without leaving the seat. The old way was to stop the car and get out and change coils or have 3 or 4 of them hanging on a crowsfoot and even then they only cover a small portion of a band. I was constantly adjusting the length of the whips. The screwdriver antenna solves all the problems of the other antennas. This one covers 6m to 160m without changing anything.
