I recently aquired a radio telemetry system for my dogs as a peace of mind will frequenting state recreational areas.
It came with a 3 element yagi. I have seen other similar units for sale with a much smaller 4 element system - each element being mounted at the corner of the reciever and being no longer than the reciever, when folded is very compact.
How could I determine the appropriate contruction materials and dimension for building the smaler version myself? I know I will loose some effective range, but am OK with that.
The reciever operates at 216mhz.
Any help appreciated.
