The GAP Super C antenna is a crossed field antenna. But then so is every other antenna including loops, slots and mattress springs. What makes the "CFA" unique is the matching system and efficiency. The GAP Super C also has a unique matching system which is very efficient. In the Super C the E and H elements are fed in series instead of in parallel as in the "CFA". They are connected by a short phasing section (Inductor). This simplifies the tuning, but has the same disadvantge of narrow bandwidth as the "CFA". To change bands, the phasing section must be changed in both antenna configurations. While the radiating part of bath antennas may be considered wide-band, or even broad-band, the antenna system is narrow band dur to the matching system. This is also true of a loop or a short stub. In the actual operation of generating the Poynting Vector (Radiation) there is little difference between the Super C and the "CFA". 73 Ralph
