The E field lines must have the same curvature as the H field lines. When we first tried to make the CFA work we had straight-line E field lines cutting the curving H field (magnetic) lines and the CFA just did not work. It was Fathi Kabbary's genius to find out from the mathematics that BOTH THE SETS OF FIELD LINES MUST HAVE THE SAME CURVATURE.
The five criteria for the successful operation of the Crossed Field Effect i.e. to produce Poynting Vector Synthesis are: 1 Both E and H fields to exist across the same volume in space. 2 E and H fields to cross at right angles and the correct twist to form an outward moving energy. 3 E and H fields to be IN PHASE. 4 E and H fields to be in ratio of 377 ohms. 5 E and H fields to have same curvature.
The Curvature criterion is obvious in hindsight since the CFA must be at the centre of the Expanding Spherical Wavefronts which are to leave and fill all the surrounding space to which the extremely small antenna is radiating.
Good Wishes to all experimenters, MAURICE .
