I built a half-size CFA using a coffee can and it tunes very well in 80 m with the same network described in the paper, but with 5-500 pF capacitors. It looks like the properties of the antenna does not depend substantially from the size (apart BW). Simply changing a tap on the inductors, it was also possible to change band. I simply calulated taps for the same inductive impedance on all bands. However, for simple multiband operation, it would be better to me to have pretuned matching units, or servogear as in Gary's model. By the way, I noted that 1) arching happens only if full power (100 W) is given before correct tuning 2) tuning is simpler if you first tune for best received signal and then for lowest SWR Have fun!
