Paul, the issue is Sept/Oct 98 and title is "The CYLOAD Cylinder-loaded Dipole" on page 44. There is quite a lot of comment about Hamcalc in the article, but it probably will not be useful in this application, because of limitations built into the program. The curves will be very usefull up to ratios of length/diam ratios of 1/1. I have run several possible configurations on EZNEC, using a simple wire frame, twenty inches square and it proves itself to be an acceptable substiture for a 1/4-wave dipole, with a fair groound system----gain is down to about -3.5dbi.
