G'day All,

Here are the results of comparison between 4 Narrowcast BC stations (the CFA station is 1665kHz):-

Freq. Dist. Dist. Corr. Relative FS Pwr. Corr. CFA Deficit 1620 42km -1.86dB 13.00dB -3dB 8.15dB 1638 21km -7.88dB 18.00dB -3dB 7.12dB 1665 52km 0.00dB 0.00dB 0dB 0dB 1683 53km 0.17dB 12.00dB -3dB 9.16dB

Don't know how this will format. All figures have been rounded in favour of the CFA (believer figures) and it seems that at best and taking all possible advantages to the CFA it is still about 8dB down on the old "time warp" standard stations. This is allowing 3dB for the reported lower power for the CFA station. As the CFA is not such a long way down in height from a full 1/4 wave vertical, the question remains is it better than a short vertical of the same height with a very good ground plane around (copper sheet)? I don't believe so.
