SMALL MAGNETIC LOOPS
Construction & Use
If you are seeking a compact antenna because you are living in tight places and restricted
communuties, such as small lots, apartment & condominium communities, here is a
collection of construction articles about various types of small Loop antennas for HF and
VHF. This book also discusses the evolution of the Loop since the 1920s for a better
understanding of the Loop. Another author writes a four-part series about his experiments
of the 1940s. The books contains many diagrams and photos of the Loops presented here.
This is a book compiled from the Archives of antenneX
and it is a collection of articles written by several members of the writing team of this
magazine. Many of the Loops described in this book were built by following the recipe for
construction set forth in THE LOOP book. But It goes well beyond THE LOOP book, another publication of antenneX that, since
its printing in 1989, has been the leading authority followed by many in understanding,
building and operating small loops.
Not only will the reader find the basic small Loop discussed thoroughly, but various
configurations and new experiments as well. Further, the special capacitors and methods of
feeding and tuning needed to operate such a Loop is described.
If you are looking for a compact transmitting and/or listening antenna for restricted
environments, this book is for you and, if you havent yet read a copy of THE LOOP,
it will be of significant assistance to you in following the advanced Loop construction
and use described here. THE LOOP book is found in
the BookShelf section also.
